The Requejo bridge-viaduct is a Spanish engineering work built to save the Duero River as it passes through the municipalities of Pino del Oro and Villadepera, in the province of Zamora, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain.
The Requejo bridge was inaugurated on September 15, 1914. In its time, the resulting bridge was the brightest, 120 m, and the highest, 90 m over the river, in all of Spain.
The approved project was the one presented by the engineer José Eugenio Ribera in 1897. The difficulties of its assembly meant that no construction company presented itself to the first auctions of the work. The Asturian company Duro Felguera was the successful bidder for the work, but when the bridge was assembled, difficulties forced it to cede the work to another company, called Montajes. The latter, after starting the relevant works, also had to suspend and abandon them due to the technical difficulties derived from the assembly. The work was returned again t...
